APTLD Board Meeting Communiqué (18 June 2015)< back to list
On 18 June 2015, the
APTLD Board had its regular teleconference and considered a range of matters, the most important of which are published in this
The APTLD budget
The Board noted that
to date, the APTLD Budget has been executed in line with the 2015 projections.
The Board expressed
concern over some members’ failure to pay their membership fees in a timely
manner and suggested GM contact them to forewarn of a possible suspension for
the membership rights and privileges. Should the members fail to respond
and ultimately settle the arrears, the Board recommend GM appeal to a
higher authority in their respective jurisdictions with notification
thereof and encourage a due course of action.
The Board was informed
by GM that two proposals were submitted for the website revamp, both from
Russia and in the Russian language. GM informed the board that they are being
translated to English
for further examination.
APTLD Meeting in Jakarta
The Board considered
the GM’s update on preparations for the Meeting and suggested GM and Secretariat
intensify outreach efforts to ensure a maximum possible turnout for, and
participation in, the Meeting. With the Meeting Agenda properly
structured and some speakers already confirmed, the Board underscores
the need for GM to hold F2F meetings with prospective speakers on the sidelines
of ICANN53 and APrIGF6 After this, the Meeting Agenda should be posted online to
encourage members to register for the Meeting.
The Board approved the
APTLD Fellowship Policy and instructed GM to make it publicly available for
members to apply for the Jakarta Meeting.
The Board noted with
satisfaction that APEC economies were supportive of the APTLD’s application for
the three-year guest status with APECTEL and commended .NZ for willingness to contribute
to the APECTEL WG meeting in Auckland in the fall of 2015.
The Board approved GM’s
contribution to ICANN-Studienkreis 15th Meeting in Amsterdam in August 2015 and
the World Internet Conference2 (“Wuzhen Summit”) in China in October 2015.
The Board considered
GM’s update on outreach efforts and recommended continue reaching out to non-members
to encourage them to join APTLD.
